First time Recoloring Windows & Doors

Hello! I really want to recolor Jonesi's Two Windows and a Door Two Windows and a Door... but before I start I just want to know... is there anything special I should know about recoloring build mode objects (stairs, windows, doors)? Just curious as to if it is much different from recoloring objects.

Recolouring Doors, windows, arches, columns, plants (w/o seasons) etc is pretty straight forward.
Just make sure that you pick the straight version of the mesh for the doors, arches and windows for recolouring.

Fences, halfwalls, greenhouse-walls and roof-patterns are different. They need to be cloned rather than recoloured.
Plants with seasons are just plain complicated.
