Added Features and Security Measures

As you may or may not know lately there have been many attempted and some successful hacking attacks on Sims related sites. As a response we decided to add some features to our forum to enhance security.

Hopefully these will only annoy anyone trying to do harm to our site and not our normal members, however since these are not foolproof and restrict access I would appreciate feedback if you experience any trouble.
You can replie to this thread, pm me or sent an e-mail to spiegelsplitter@yahoo.de.

The first mod I installed is mostly a feature for us admins and global mods since it's purpose is to reduce spam. :D
If you are new here, your account might have to be approved before you can post on the forum.
If you already had an account and have wrongfully been deemed a spammer please contact me via e-mail.

Note: All old members that are awaiting approval and do not contact an admin or global mod till 31st March 2011 will be deleted.

The second mod will notify you of any failed loging attempts to your account via e-mail and give you the opportunity to link your account to one or more IP adresses. You can do this via your profile page.

Note: Linking your account to an IP works  best with static IPs but it also works for everyone with changing IPs, you will receive an E-Mail with a link to log on in case you use a different IP than the one registered with your account.

The third new mod should enhance site security in various ways and effects guests and members alike.
No longer active.

Feel free to replie if you have any questions or suggestions and please contact me if you experience any trouble.
